Unauthenticated code execution via automatic administrator login
Published Apr 20, 2023 · Updated Oct 21, 2025
Authentication bypass in PaperCut NG/MF 22.0.5 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on the Application Server. The SetupCompleted form calls Home.performLogin for the Admin user without password validation, converting an anonymous session into an administrative session. Network access to the Application Server is sufficient, and built-in print scripting then executes attacker-supplied commands as SYSTEM or root.
