Service crash via invalid OPC client certificate
Published May 3, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
NULL pointer dereference in Softing edgeConnector 3.60 and earlier allows remote attackers to crash its OPC UA server using an invalid client certificate. During session creation, the server dereferences a NULL pointer while processing the certificate rather than rejecting it. No authentication is required, and successful exploitation interrupts the service until it is restarted.
