Administrator action hijacking via unsanitized OPC UA metadata
Published May 3, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Softing edgeAggregator 3.60 and earlier allows remote attackers to run JavaScript in an administrator's browser. The test OPC UA server connection view inserts server-supplied manufacturer and product metadata into HTML without sanitization. Exploitation requires an administrator to test an attacker-controlled server; the script inherits that session's permissions, while root code execution requires chaining separate flaws.
