Host code execution via Toolgate locking race
Published May 3, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
A TOCTOU race in Toolgate in Parallels Desktop before 18.1.1 allows local users to execute code as the current macOS user. Toolgate performs operations on an object without proper locking, allowing its state to change between a security check and later use. Exploitation requires high-privileged code execution in a guest system and crosses into code execution as the current user on the host.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
