Root code execution via uninitialized environment variables
Published May 3, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Improper initialization in Parallels Desktop before 18.1.0 allows local users to execute arbitrary code as root through Parallels Service. Parallels Service fails to initialize environment variables before privileged execution, allowing attacker-controlled environment state to affect a root process. Low-privileged code execution on the macOS host is required, and successful exploitation grants root-level code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
