CVE-2023-27292Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Browser script execution via unsanitized frame URL

Published Feb 28, 2023 · Updated Mar 21, 2025

Open redirect in OpenCATS 0.9.6 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in a victim's browser via a crafted URL. SettingsUI.php inserts the url GET parameter into an HTML frame source without sanitization, causing javascript: input to run when the page renders. Exploitation requires a valid CATS session and a victim who opens the crafted preview-page URL, enabling browser-side script execution and redirection.
