Authenticated service interruption via unrestricted API requests
Published Apr 19, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Improper API interaction controls in IBM Aspera Faspex 5.0.0 through 5.0.7 allow remote authenticated users to interrupt service. The Faspex 5 API accepts repeated authenticated requests without enforcing rate limits on interaction frequency. A valid low-privilege account and network access to the API are required; sustained requests exhaust service capacity and deny availability.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=5.0.0
