Code execution via retained JSP upload
Published Jan 19, 2024 · Updated Jun 2, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in Xpand IT Write-Back Manager 2.3.1 allows remote attackers to execute code via a crafted JSP file. The upload handlers write files to disk before checking extensions, then leave rejected files in place when validation throws an exception. Reaching the web root and unauthenticated SYSTEM execution requires chaining the flaw with the companion path-traversal and weak-JWT issues.
