Administrator access via unchecked support-ticket submission
Published May 20, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Missing authorization in Groundhogg 2.7.8.9 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to gain administrator access via a support ticket. The submit_ticket function processes requests without a capability check, creates an administrator auto-login link, and sends the link with site data to Groundhogg support. Exploitation requires an authenticated WordPress account and a valid active plugin license; the resulting link grants administrator access to the affected site.
