Stored XSS via unsanitized Role Name
Published Oct 23, 2023 · Updated Sep 11, 2024
Stored XSS in the osTicket 1.17.2 Admin panel allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript through a crafted Role Name. The Role Name field accepts unsanitized input, stores it, and emits it on the Roles page so an event handler executes when a user hovers over the name. Administrative access is required to create the role, and another user must hover over its name to trigger code in that user's browser session.
