Script execution via unescaped post tag markup
Published Mar 16, 2023 · Updated Feb 26, 2025
DOM-based cross-site scripting in Typecho 1.2.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to run script via a crafted post tag. The admin/write-post.php editor inserts a new tag name into an HTML list item without neutralizing attacker-controlled markup. Exploitation requires an authenticated backend user and user interaction; the disclosed payload demonstrates browser-side JavaScript execution, not server-side code execution.
