CVE-2023-27116Public exploit

Process crash via unhandled SIMD type

Published Mar 10, 2023 · Updated Feb 28, 2025

Denial of service in WABT 1.0.29 allows local users to crash wasm2c by processing a crafted WebAssembly module. CWriter::MangleType reaches an abort while emitting C for a SIMD value type that the 1.0.29 wasm2c code path does not handle. The user must invoke wasm2c with the crafted module and multi-memory enabled; exploitation terminates only that conversion process, with no reported data disclosure or modification.
