Call-log disclosure via unrestricted Web Activity
Published May 1, 2023 · Updated Jan 30, 2025
Information disclosure in KaiOS 3.0 allows remote attackers to read call logs through the Communications app's Web Activity. The manifest exposes getCallLogList without allowedOrigins, and its service worker calls db.getAllData() and returns the result to any caller. A malicious website or app can invoke the activity without permission or user interaction and transmit telephone numbers, timestamps, call types, and durations to a remote server.
