Cloud media disclosure via hardcoded credentials
Published Jan 9, 2024 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Hardcoded credentials in TP-Link Tapo APK 2.12.703 and earlier allow remote attackers to access the Tapo C200 cloud store. NBUCloudRepository.java embeds API tokens and passwords in decompilable application bytecode rather than retrieving them from a protected secret store. Extracting the credentials requires obtaining and decompiling the APK; their use exposes stored camera videos and photos without a Tapo account.
