Stored XSS via unrestricted HTML upload
Published Jun 26, 2023 · Updated Dec 4, 2024
Stored XSS in Pluck CMS 4.7.15 through 4.7.16-dev4 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript via an uploaded HTML file. The data/inc/files.php handler uses an executable-extension denylist that permits HTML, copies the file into the public files directory, and links to it without neutralizing embedded script. Administrative access is required to upload the file, and execution requires a user to open the stored HTML in a browser.
