Unauthenticated service interruption via unbounded picName
Published Mar 13, 2023 · Updated Feb 27, 2025
Buffer overflow in Tenda V15EV1.0 firmware 15.11.0.14(1521_3190_1058) allows remote attackers to interrupt HTTP service via a crafted request. The formDelWewifiPic function in /bin/httpd passes the unbounded picName parameter to sprintf, overflowing its destination buffer. No authentication or user interaction is required; reaching the HTTP endpoint is sufficient to interrupt the service.
