Improper input validation in Python's email parser in RUGGEDCOM ROX before V2.17.0 allows remote attackers to bypass address-based controls. The parseaddr and getaddresses paths in email/_parseaddr.py accept malformed RFC 2822 input and return the display-name portion as the addr-spec instead of rejecting the address. Exploitation requires an application to authorize the returned value while sending verification or other mail to the actual address, enabling only the application action guarded by that address check.
