Unauthenticated code execution via login SQL injection
Published Mar 16, 2023 · Updated Feb 26, 2025
Remote code execution in Simple Image Gallery 1.0 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary server commands through its login workflow. The login endpoint inserts the username into an SQL query without neutralizing quote syntax, allowing a tautology to establish an administrative session; the account-update handler then accepts a PHP file as the profile image. No credentials or user interaction are required, and uploaded PHP executes with the web server account's privileges.
