CVE-2023-27010Public exploit

Local privilege escalation via writable service executable

Published Mar 13, 2023 · Updated Mar 3, 2025

Local privilege escalation in Wondershare Dr.Fone 12.9.6 allows local users to execute code as SYSTEM by replacing DriverInstall.exe. The WsDrvInst service runs DriverInstall.exe as LocalSystem while the executable's access controls grant Everyone full control, allowing replacement with attacker-controlled code. A standard or domain user with local Windows access can replace the binary and obtain administrator-level execution when the service starts.
