Application crash via JPEG 2000 out-of-bounds write

Memory corruption in IrfanView 4.62 allows attackers to crash the application when a user opens a crafted JPEG 2000 file. In the 32-bit JPEG2000.dll 4.56.0.0 decoder, a loop advances a destination pointer by two bytes for 32 iterations and writes a byte after the allocated buffer ends. Exploitation requires user interaction with the malicious file and produces a user-mode access violation and denial of service, with no reported confidentiality or integrity impact.
