Process abort via crafted PDF memory exhaustion

Improper memory handling in Xpdf 4.04 allows context-dependent attackers to crash pdftotext by processing a crafted PDF file. The reproducer reaches a PDFDoc allocation while pdftotext parses the file, and allocation failure terminates the process without evidence of an out-of-bounds copy. Processing attacker-supplied PDF content is required, and the vendor disputes that the expected out-of-memory abort is a security defect.
