CVE-2023-26918Public exploit

Local privilege escalation via writable installation directory

Published Apr 13, 2023 · Updated Feb 7, 2025

Incorrect permissions in Diasoft File Replication Pro 7.5.0 allow local users to execute replacement files as LocalSystem. The installer grants Everyone full control over %ProgramFiles%\FileReplicationPro, allowing a legitimate executable to be replaced. A local user who can write to that directory can plant a Trojan horse that the privileged product process later runs with LocalSystem authority.
