Database reads and writes via client_id SQL injection
Published May 14, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
SQL injection in SourceCodester Personnel Property Equipment System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to read and alter database records. The admin/returned_reuse_form.php handler incorporates the client_id GET value into a query without neutralizing SQL syntax, allowing a crafted UNION SELECT to return an attacker-chosen marker. Low-privileged admin-interface access is required, and successful injection is limited to records accessible to the application's database account.
