Out-of-root file relocation via unchecked destination path
Published Jun 9, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Path traversal in Iptanus File Upload and Iptanus File Upload Pro 4.19.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to move uploaded files. The backend file browser accepts the wfu_newpath parameter as a move destination without constraining the resolved path to the site's web root. Administrator access is required, and exploitation relocates files previously uploaded through the plugin beyond their intended directory.
