Root command execution via pre-login engineering tool
Published Apr 4, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Command injection in GreenPacket WR-1200 and OT-235 firmware allows remote attackers to execute root commands through a pre-login web utility. The engineering command tool in the router web utility accepts attacker-supplied commands before authentication and passes them to root-level execution. The affected M-IDU-1.6.0.3_V1.1 and MH-46360-2.0.3-R5-GP builds require no account or user interaction, allowing complete device takeover.
