Stored script execution via unescaped note content
Published Apr 25, 2023 · Updated Feb 4, 2025
Stored XSS in NoteEditor.php in ChurchCRM 4.5.3 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts through a crafted note body. The editor's Source mode accepts attacker-controlled HTML in NoteText, stores it, and renders it on the associated family or person page without effective output neutralization. Low-privileged application access and a later family or person page view are required; script execution occurs in that viewer's browser context.
