Person-record tampering via tokenless cross-origin submission
Published Apr 25, 2023 · Updated Feb 4, 2025
Cross-site request forgery in ChurchCRM 4.5.3 allows remote attackers to alter existing people's records through PersonEditor.php. PersonEditor.php accepts an automatically submitted cross-origin POST containing person fields and a save action without a request-specific anti-CSRF value. A logged-in victim authorized to edit people must load attacker-controlled content, after which names, addresses, contact details, and other person data are overwritten.
