CVE-2023-2683

Connection denial via unreleased pairing allocations

Published Jun 15, 2023 · Updated Dec 11, 2024

Memory leakage in the EFR32 stack of Sigma Designs Bluetooth SDK 5.0.0 through 5.1.1 allows adjacent attackers to block connections. The invalid-pairing-message path leaves memory allocated after its effective lifetime, exhausting resources needed for later legitimate connections. Bluetooth radio proximity is required, and the service interrupt persists until the embedded device is reset.
