Authenticated code execution via unbounded sprintf
Published Mar 19, 2023 · Updated Feb 27, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda W20E 15.11.0.6 allows remote authenticated users to crash the device or execute code. The formIPMacBindModify handler passes IPMacBindRuleIp, IPMacBindRuleMac, and IPMacBindRuleRemark to unbounded sprintf into a 512-byte stack buffer. Access to the web administration interface and valid credentials are required; oversized binding fields can corrupt the stack and interrupt service or control execution.
