CVE-2023-26612Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated memory corruption via HostName stack overflow

Published Jun 29, 2023 · Updated Nov 27, 2024

Stack buffer overflow in D-Link DIR-823G firmware 1.02B05 allows remote attackers to corrupt memory via a crafted HNAP1 HostName value. SetParentsControlInfo uses the untrusted HostName string length as a copy bound rather than limiting the copy to the destination buffer's capacity. The published request contains no credentials; exploitation requires network access to the router's HNAP1 service, and the public artifact does not demonstrate code execution.
