CVE-2023-26566Known exploitationNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated call control via hardcoded ARI credentials

Published May 10, 2024 · Updated Feb 13, 2025

Hardcoded ARI credentials in Sangoma Linux 1805 through 2203 allow remote attackers to control PBX calls over HTTP or WebSocket. Official FreePBX ISO images provision a PBX-generated ARI account with shared credentials, so Asterisk accepts credentials known across affected installations. Access requires network reachability to the ARI service, normally on TCP 8088 or 8089, and grants the ability to create apps and endpoints, place internal or external calls, and retrieve system information.
