Authenticated command execution via unchecked v2 argument
Published May 11, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Command injection in Tenda AC23 16.03.07.45_cn allows remote authenticated users to execute operating-system commands through service port 7329. The ifconfig_ function in /bin/ate passes the attacker-controlled v2 value to doSystemCmd without neutralizing shell metacharacters. An authenticated user must first enable port 7329 through the HTTP /goform/ate endpoint; successful exploitation yields code execution on the router.
