Password hash disclosure via live-table column queries
Published Mar 2, 2023 · Updated Mar 5, 2025
Information disclosure in affected XWiki Platform releases allows remote attackers to reconstruct password hashes via repeated live-table calls. LiveTableResults and WikisLiveTableResultsMacros add caller-selected columns to database queries without excluding Password-typed fields, creating an oracle that reveals hash characters across repeated requests. No authentication or user interaction is required; the disclosed values are password hashes, while integrity and service availability remain unaffected.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
