Authenticated code execution via misattributed property rendering
Published Mar 2, 2023 · Updated Mar 5, 2025
Improper access control in affected XWiki Platform releases allows remote authenticated users to execute Groovy code via text-area profile fields. Profile property rendering evaluates embedded wiki syntax with the existing document content author's rights instead of the editing user's rights. Any account able to edit its profile can inherit a privileged content author's script authority, enabling code execution with access to the wiki's data and service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
