Database disclosure via unrestricted suggestion queries
Published Mar 2, 2023 · Updated Mar 5, 2025
Improper access control in XWiki Platform allows remote authenticated users with edit rights to read restricted database records. DatabaseListProperty accepts an editor-supplied Hibernate Query, and suggest.vm executes that SELECT when serving field suggestions without requiring script rights. An account with document edit rights is required; the exploit exposes data readable by arbitrary SELECT queries but does not write or delete records.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
