Database query execution via unsanitized id parameter
Published May 11, 2023 · Updated Jan 24, 2025
SQL injection in SourceCodester Online Exam System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute database queries through the id parameter. The updateCourse.php GET handler incorporates the id value into a database query without neutralizing SQL syntax, and a UNION payload changes the query successfully. Access to the admin-panel course-update endpoint is required; the published proof of concept demonstrates query manipulation rather than full host compromise.
