Code execution via DAE parser out-of-bounds write
Published Apr 13, 2023 · Updated Mar 5, 2025
Out-of-bounds write in Adobe Substance 3D Designer 12.4.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute code via a malicious DAE file. The DAE parser fails to validate file-supplied data before writing past the end of an allocated object. Exploitation requires a victim to open the file or visit a malicious page, and the resulting code runs in the current process and user context.
