Policy disclosure via unvalidated WebSocket origin
Published Jun 13, 2023 · Updated Jan 2, 2025
Origin validation error in Rockwell Automation FactoryTalk System Services 6.20 and earlier allows remote attackers to read policy data. The feedback mechanism accepts local WebSocket connections without verifying that their origin is a legitimate local client, letting hostile browser scripts wait for policy events. Exploitation requires an authenticated user to visit attacker-controlled content; disclosure is limited to installation status and potentially the entire security policy.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
