Path traversal in Siemens TIA Portal allows attackers to execute arbitrary code via a malicious PC system configuration file. Siemens does not identify the parser; configuration-file processing fails to constrain traversal paths before creating or overwriting arbitrary files in the engineering system. Exposure requires a user to open an untrusted local file in V15, before V16 Update 7, before V17 Update 6, or before V18 Update 1.
