CVE-2023-26268Network attack vector

Cross-database information exposure via shared JavaScript state

Published May 2, 2023 · Updated Oct 15, 2024

Information exposure in Apache CouchDB 3.3.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to access data across databases. couchjs matches affected design-document executions only by document ID, so equal IDs in separate cluster databases reuse mutable JavaScript state. Exploitation requires an untrusted design document using validate_doc_update, list, filter, rewrite, or update functions; map/reduce and search indexes are unaffected.
