Cross-site scripting via unsanitized URL path arguments
Published Feb 21, 2023 · Updated Mar 14, 2025
Cross-site scripting in the Borg theme before 1.1.19 for Backdrop CMS allows remote attackers to inject content through URL path arguments. The borg_preprocess_page function in template.php uses attacker-controlled path arguments without sufficient sanitization before incorporating them into page output. No authentication or user interaction is required, and exploitation exposes rendered pages to attacker-supplied content without a reported integrity or availability impact.
