CVE-2023-26234Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Remote command execution via single-instance deserialization

Published Feb 20, 2023 · Updated Mar 17, 2025

Unsafe deserialization in JD-GUI 1.6.6 allows remote attackers to execute commands through the single-instance listener on TCP port 20156. The listener passes attacker-supplied socket bytes directly to ObjectInputStream.readObject without restricting deserialized classes. Exploitation requires single-instance mode and a gadget-compatible JDK such as 8u20 or 7u21, and successful exploitation runs commands with the JD-GUI process's privileges.
