CVE-2023-26221

Access-token theft via malicious Analyst files

Published Nov 8, 2023 · Updated Sep 4, 2024

Insufficient credential protection in TIBCO Spotfire 12.3.0, 12.4.0, and 12.5.0 allows attackers to obtain authorized users' access tokens. The flaw is in Spotfire Connectors, but TIBCO has not disclosed how processing a crafted Analyst file exposes access-token material. Exploitation requires low-privileged read/write access to craft the file and a different user to open or process it; the resulting exposure is limited to that authorized user's access tokens.
