CVE-2023-26149Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Script execution via unsanitized mention list rendering

Published Sep 28, 2023 · Updated Sep 23, 2024

Cross-site scripting in quill-mention before 4.0.0 allows remote attackers to execute script when a user triggers an unsafe mention list. The renderList path inserts mention values into the menu through innerHTML instead of text-only DOM operations, allowing markup and event handlers to execute. Exploitation requires attacker-controlled mention data and user interaction with @; injected script runs in the embedding application's browser origin.
