CVE-2023-26148Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Arbitrary header injection via unsanitized request values

Published Sep 29, 2023 · Updated Sep 23, 2024

CRLF injection in ithewei libhv before 1.3.3 allows attackers to add arbitrary headers to outbound HTTP requests. The HTTP client serializes request-header values without rejecting embedded carriage-return and line-feed characters, so a crafted value starts another header line. Exploitation requires a consuming application to place attacker-controlled data in a request header; the demonstrated consequence is modification of the request sent downstream.
