CVE-2023-26105Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Prototype pollution via unsafe locale object merge

Published Feb 28, 2023 · Updated Mar 11, 2025

Prototype pollution in utilities 1.0.6 and earlier allows remote attackers to modify Object.prototype through crafted locale data. The i18n.loadLocale path passes the locale object into _mix, which copies enumerable source properties into the target without rejecting the proto key. Exposure requires a consuming application to pass attacker-controlled locale keys and values to loadLocale; inherited properties can then corrupt application behavior or interrupt service.
