Improper link resolution in Malwarebytes for Windows before 4.5.23 allows local users to delete arbitrary files through quarantine. The local quarantine system follows an attacker-controlled symbolic link during deletion, redirecting the operation to another filesystem object. A low-privileged local account can target protected files, and successful deletion enables privilege escalation in certain scenarios.
