Unauthenticated code execution via unvalidated configuration files
Published Apr 10, 2023 · Updated Feb 11, 2025
Improper input validation in the web API of Lexmark printer firmware allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected devices. The snmpUTIL binary processes configuration files without proper validation, permitting attacker-controlled data to drive code execution as the admin user. Exploitation requires network access but no authentication or user interaction; Lexmark assesses the attack as high complexity.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
