Staff-authenticated disclosure via unfiltered GraphQL exceptions
Published Mar 2, 2023 · Updated Mar 5, 2025
Information disclosure in Saleor 2.0.0 and later affected releases allows remote authenticated users to read email addresses via GraphQL errors. The GraphQL format_error function returned arbitrary Python exception text instead of replacing non-allowlisted messages when DEBUG was disabled. Staff authentication is required; the reported consequence is disclosure of exception text such as user email addresses, not data modification or service interruption.
