CVE-2023-26043Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated file read via XXE style upload

Published Feb 27, 2023 · Updated Mar 10, 2025

XML External Entity injection in GeoNode before 4.0.3 allows remote authenticated users to read server files via style uploads. The dataset_style_upload view passes uploaded SLD XML to lxml parsers with entity resolution enabled, and the resolved NamedLayer UserStyle Name is returned in the response. A logged-in account with dataset style-upload access is required; the demonstrated impact is arbitrary file disclosure without reported write or service interruption.
